My Dream..... My Nikon...... ( I have always been a NIKON fan..!! )

It was my long awaited dream of more than 3 years which i realized when I purchased this NIKON D90. I consider this important as it is my my first step into the world of creative photography. I was not willing to select any other DSLR model than the D90.Now I am happy that I can have complete control over my shots in full manual mode rather than the automatic way in other compact cameras.
well... this shot of mine was an attempt to capture a self portrait through the mirror, jus did a bit of rework as to inverting the picture and converting it to black and white to make it the way I wanted it to look like.

I think boredom is the mother of creativity

My home place is a small village island located near the lake side. The thing is that we do not have electricity most of the time. We feel really bored and frustrated during such times. One day, as usual the power cuts were there, and fortunately that time I was holding my camera in my hand and was looking at the previous pics that i have taken.Nothing felt so impressive to me. I was about to switch it off and keep it aside when I noticed the candle light on the table...It looked interesting, I just moved on closer to it and clicked.I was so happy with this shot and Suddenly the boredom of the power cuts turned into an exciting time.!!

This is one of my favourite shots

This shot happened on a day when I took a day off from college. I wanted to sleep till 10 in the morning, but somehow I couldn't sleep because mom waked me up early. I looked out of the window and saw the golden rays of the sun rising. I couldn't wait. I just ran n took my camera, looked around to find something exciting to shoot keeping the rising sun as the theme. The grass on the ground was one of my options and after some experiments and adjustments, managed to end up the session with this shot. In the end I enjoyed a lot with my camera that day.

Landscapes are a relaxing for the eye

The Munnar landscape is truly amazing. Even before I reached Munnar, I knew that something good was to happen with my camera. on the first day i looked a bit confused on where to start and about which of the landscapes would hit my lens. this shot was taken on the second day. I clicked this one just because the green hills studded with the beautiful trees seemed to be flowing down from the sky. I should say that i really enjoyed this a lot.

SOLITUDE - a treat for photographic appetite

I was searching for this kind of a pose from someone somewhere for a long time until when I reached Bangalore-Lal Bagh Botanical gardens, i was trying to photograph some flowers and insects, but to my surprise this girl caught my eye from a long distance. I think it was just because of the way she was sitting deeply occupied in maybe the crossword puzzle in the newspaper.she was completely in solitude. The way she sat and the sunlight from the other side made her a great treat to click on.

The same thing happened here also. on the way back home from Bangalore, i was feeling bored in the train as the journey was taking quite a long time than i expected, so were the people around me. i decided to have a look at each one of them. To my excitement i found this man completely engaged in a world of himself. I should say that the lights entering through the window played a magical effect on this shot.

I never knew that simple things at home could make great snaps...

The time was around 6.30 in the evening... there was nothing to do.. I was walking through the backyard and suddenly noticed a pot full of water being boiled using firewood... i was gazing at the bright flames n the burning wood. I suddenly ran int the house n took the camera n started clicking.... until i got these ones.....
dont know which one looks good.... its better you decide.

SOME THOUGHTS....

As I started on my digital photography,I had many things in my mind. What i believe is that every snapper can produce top notch photographs. It doesn’t matter how much your camera costs, or how large it is.

The thing that makes the biggest difference to the quality of digital photography is the person behind the camera. I always like to believe in my abilities and most of the time i am in search of that extraordinary pic so called 'dream snap' by me that will come out some day from my digital camera.

On this page I would like to explain digital photography... according to me, photography came in my mind quite naturally. I never expected it to make it a hobby for myself. I was using a digital camera (sony cyber-shot) jus moved around and took some pictures here and there, and to my surprise i found out that i was getting interested in this a lot.
soon i began doing this in my free time because it gave a lot of excitement and it worked for me as a stress buster too..!!

The next thing i did about digital photography was to put things into practice. I found out that there’s no hard and fast rules on this. It all depends on your imagination and the freedom and willingness to look things from a different angle or perspective. with digital photography, its so easy to do things because you don’t waste any film, and you can check the shot straight away. If it really doesn’t look good on the camera screen,i just try again from a slightly different angle until the shot becomes satisfying to me.

sometimes an experiment works out in a great way..

This picture was taken from a nokia 3.2 megapixel phone.. the photo was taken at around 3pm and i never expected it to be this good considering the fact that i was not using a professional camera at all.. the direct sunlight spoiled the picture in the begining, I took it as a challenge and finally after many an attempt i was successful .... bingo..!!

the secret behind this pic is very simple.... I kept a sunglass in front of the camera to block the intense sunlight to get this effect...!!
